Many assumptions are made about women’s unique place within and relationship to the Church:

What are women’s hopes and fears when it comes to taking up leadership roles within the Church?
What are the unique barriers women face in the Church?
And where are there causes for celebration – amazing examples of women and men working together in partnership for the gospel?

To mark our 10th anniversary year, we at Sophia launched a research project to answer some of  these questions. Amazingly over 1000 women honestly gave us their opinions, shared their joys, their hopes, their concerns and their heartbreak.

We believe that it’s only through getting an accurate picture of what it’s truly like for women in the Church that we can move forward, going on a full-on mission to address the issues that need addressing and to highlight best practice. This research will be officially launched in Parliament on International Women's Day 2018.

Sophia Network views this more than just a research project; we want this report to inspire practical change within the Church and are carefully curating a response to it.

 We're inviting you to join us for our 'Minding the Gap' research focus group day. Not only will you be part of a select group of 30 key Christian female influencers, you will have the opportunity to hear some of our research findings before anyone else and help to shape Sophia's response in practical ways. 

Lunch will be provided and we would kindly ask for a small donation towards it.
